Girls Will Be Girls marks the maiden production of real life couple Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal. The film has bagged several awards at TIFF, MAMI and Cannes 2024 since its debut at the Sundance Film Festival.

Girls Will Be Girls is all set to premiere in India on December 18. On Wednesday, Prime Video announced the streaming date of the critically acclaimed film. The film, starring newcomers Preeti Panigrahi and Kesav Binoy Kiron in lead roles along with Kani Kusruti, is an Indo-French joint production. It is jointly produced under Richa Chadha-Ali Fazal's banner Pushing Buttons Studios, and French productions houses Dolce Vita Films and Crawling Angel Films. Girls Will Be Girls had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. It was critically praised at several film festivals including Toronto International Film Festival, Cannes and MAMI. Speaking about her maiden production venture, Richa Chadha said, "Girls Will Be Girls is a film that captures the raw and authentic experiences of young adults, reflecting the rebellious spirit of adolescence while exploring the challenges of adulting, where inter-generational conflicts and struggle for independence are common. We are thrilled that the universal theme of our dream project has resonated with audiences worldwide." She added, "With the film now set for an exclusive digital launch on Prime Video in India, we

Girls Will Be Girls won two awards at the Sundance Film Festival-The Audience Award and Special Jury Award for Acting. It also bagged the Grand Jury Prize at the Indian Film Festival in Los Angeles, Best Film at the Jakarta International Festival and Biarritz Film Festival, and the Transilvania Trophy for Best Film at the Transilvania International Film Festival. The film also received four awards at MAMI. Directed by Shuchi Talati, Girls Will Be Girls is all set for streaming on December 18.
